Give ElevenLabs agents your whole knowledge base with one sitemap import

Import every article at once from your sitemap, rather than page by page
Overview
ElevenLabs offers three ways to bring in a URL: a single page, a full-site crawl, or a sitemap import. For a knowledge base the sitemap is the cleanest of the three, because it hands ElevenLabs the complete article list instead of asking a crawler to discover it.
Every HelpDocs knowledge base publishes a sitemap automatically, so there is nothing to enable on our side. Turn on auto-sync and the agent keeps pace with your docs; turn on auto-remove and articles you delete stop being quoted back at customers.
If you would rather not ask anyone to paste a URL, ElevenLabs also accepts knowledge base URLs through their API, so the whole thing can be wired up once and left alone.
What you can do
- Import every article at once from your sitemap, rather than page by page
- Auto-sync picks up new articles without anyone re-importing
- Deleted articles drop out of the agent's knowledge on the next sync
- Push updates programmatically instead, if you would rather automate it
Setting it up
- In ElevenLabs, open your agent and go to Knowledge Base
- Choose Add document, then URL
- Paste your sitemap URL: https://your-slug.helpdocs.io/sitemap.xml
- Turn on auto-sync so new articles are picked up, and auto-remove so deleted ones drop out
Requirements
- Your knowledge base must be public, so the crawler can read it
