Import your whole knowledge base into Voiceflow from your sitemap

Voiceflow logo

Import every article from your sitemap in one data source

Overview

Voiceflowโ€™s URL route for knowledge is the sitemap, not a root domain. That makes the sitemap every HelpDocs knowledge base publishes the thing that lets this work at all, rather than a nice-to-have.

The import includes a preview step, so you can deselect anything you would rather the agent did not read before committing. Voiceflow re-crawls periodically, so published changes find their way in.

What you can do

  • Import every article from your sitemap in one data source
  • Preview and deselect pages before they are added
  • Periodic re-crawl keeps the agent's knowledge current
  • Your sitemap is generated automatically, with nothing to enable

Setting it up

  1. In Voiceflow, go to CMS, then Knowledge, then Add data source
  2. Choose Sitemap
  3. Paste your sitemap URL: https://your-slug.helpdocs.io/sitemap.xml
  4. Review the page list in the preview step, then import

Requirements

  • Your knowledge base must be public, so the crawler can read it
