Crawl your knowledge base into Chipp, with auto-refresh and source citations

Crawl your whole knowledge base from its root URL

Overview

Chipp crawls a website URL, with configurable depth plus include and exclude patterns. Those patterns are more useful than they sound on a knowledge base: excluding category index pages stops the agent treating a list of links as if it were an answer.

Chipp also cites source URLs in its replies, which points people back at your help center rather than leaving them with an unattributed answer.

What you can do

  • Crawl your whole knowledge base from its root URL
  • Auto-refresh keeps the agent current as you publish
  • Include and exclude patterns, so category index pages can be skipped
  • Answers cite the source article, pointing readers back to your docs

Setting it up

  1. In Chipp, go to Integrations, then Website URL
  2. Paste your knowledge base URL: https://your-slug.helpdocs.io
  3. Set the crawl depth, and exclude category index pages if you want cleaner sources
  4. Enable auto-refresh so new articles are picked up

Requirements

  • Your knowledge base must be public, so the crawler can read it
