Add your knowledge base to Kustomer's AI agent as a public URL source

Kustomer logo

Accepts a sitemap or a plain public URL, whichever you prefer

Overview

Kustomerโ€™s AI agent takes public URLs as a knowledge source, and accepts both individual pages and sitemaps. The sitemap is the better input for a knowledge base, because it hands over the full article list rather than making a crawler discover it.

Kustomer frames this as an addition to knowledge you already hold, which is exactly how it tends to work in practice: your HelpDocs articles become another source the agent can draw on, without anything moving.

What you can do

  • Accepts a sitemap or a plain public URL, whichever you prefer
  • Sits alongside the knowledge Kustomer already holds
  • Your articles stay in HelpDocs, with no migration
  • The AI agent answers from documentation you maintain

Setting it up

  1. In Kustomer, go to AI Agent, then Knowledge sources, then Add public URLs
  2. Paste your sitemap URL: https://your-slug.helpdocs.io/sitemap.xml
  3. Or paste your knowledge base root URL if you would rather Kustomer crawl it
  4. Save, and check the source is listed against your agent

Requirements

  • Your knowledge base must be public, so the crawler can read it
